Mark’s experience (30+ years) in blue-chips and SMEs spans banking, fin tech, investing and startups at CMO and board level. Regularly creates brand and marketing strategies to deliver the customer story and business value and has developed and launched many propositions to market.  Commercial and P/L responsibility ensuring ROI is demonstrated. Launched three banks, achieved brand and satisfaction market leader in two, whilst consistently exceeding sales plan and increasing market share.

A multi-award winner who’s also served on the Market Research Society awards panel. Skilled at building small and large high performance teams.

Currently mentoring The Founders and advising on strategy and marketing.

Nava Finance (Personal Loans – Fin Tech)

Created the marketing strategy, including brand vision, proposition and media plan. Pre-launch PR; gained extensive coverage building brand credibility.  

Egg (Banking)

Re-established its innovative positioning. Launched award-winning Egg Money campaign, achieving sales +150,000 in 1st year.

Set-up an award-winning customer experience programme using machine learning. Responsible for Egg’s first customer database.

Selftrade (Self Investing)

Created the marketing strategy and campaign plan for the self-investing business achieving top 3 player in sales and brand consideration leader. Set up a customer experience and CRM programme; achieved 2nd in sector for satisfaction.

Launched a new bank with a Cash ISA, achieved annual sales plan in 3 months and deposit proposition exceeded target.

Equiniti (Self Investing)

Oversaw creation of customer proposition, customer journey, website and collateral, working with IT and Operations. Launched a mobile trading app, low cost SIPP and web conversion tool.

CSMTC (Research & Strategy)

Set up a London office for this SME based at Lancaster University Business School and recruited the team.
